Meet Claire Duflot – Coordinator of Work Package 4
With a degree in Applied Foreign Languages (English-German), Claire Duflot worked for nearly 20 years as an executive assistant in consulting firms and at École Polytechnique. She joined the EuroTeQ project in January 2024 as the Work Package 4 coordinator, which focuses on lifelong learning.
You were appointed as the WP4 coordinator at l’X a year ago. What motivated you to take on this role?
After working for five years as an Executive Assistant to the Presidency of l’X, I was looking for a new challenge and new responsibilities. Laura Fioni, Director of Education and the representative of École Polytechnique on the EuroTeQ management board, offered me the opportunity to join the project as the WP4 coordinator.
I was drawn to the international and multicultural aspect of the position, which allowed me to reconnect with my academic background in foreign languages.

My WP4 colleagues were incredibly supportive in helping me quickly find my bearings and integrate into the team, where a strong sense of teamwork prevails.
I received regular briefings on the project and the expected deliverables. I am grateful to be part of this working group and to have joined the EuroTeQ journey.
Which of the deliverables you're working on excites you the most?
I could mention two, starting with the lifelong learning course catalogue. This deliverable is crucial because, for the first time, we are opening up to the world as EuroTeQ Professional Education. It represents the culmination of several years of work, and it is extremely exciting to develop something so concrete with contributions from EuroTeQ partners.
Secondly, there is the Joint Executive Program. Developed in a unique format in Europe, this program will offer a combination of leadership training and specialized technology modules, allowing participants to deepen their expertise in Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) while strengthening their strategic leadership skills. This is a highly ambitious project, and I am thrilled to see it being built step by step.
How do you envision WP4 contributing to the overall success of the EuroTeQ initiative by 2030?
From my perspective, we will have successfully contributed to Phase 2 of the EuroTeQ project when the question of the role of professional learners within the initiative is no longer raised.
In this second phase, it is essential for professionals to feel fully integrated, and WP4 must play a key role in ensuring that they have a rightful place within EuroTeQ.
This will be achieved through the recognition of EuroTeQ Professional Education in the lifelong education market.
When you're not busy with your professional activities, what are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?
I am part of an amateur theater troupe, which allows me to practice this activity once a week, and we put on a play every year. This is an essential activity for me, a kind of escape.
In addition to theater, I am a big fan of board games, and whenever I have free time, I enjoy playing them with my family. I also listen to many podcasts on contemporary history.
