European Commission’s requirements
A micro-credential certifies learning outcomes gained through a short learning experience, assessed against transparent standards. It identifies the learner, learning outcomes, assessment method and awarding body.
Micro-credentials are owned by the learner, shareable, portable and stackable, and follow agreed quality standards.
EuroTeQ focus
EuroTeQ micro-credentials support flexible, extracurricular learning that:
- develops competences beyond core curricula,
- connects different disciplines and perspectives,
- supports collaboration on societal challenges,
- combines technical, entrepreneurial and business skills,
- addresses cross-cutting topics relevant across disciplines.
They offer clearly defined and assessed learning outcomes while bringing together learners and teachers from different countries and backgrounds, strengthening intercultural and transdisciplinary competences.
EuroTeQ micro-credentials are offered in English.

The micro-credentials are mostly online. Some may be offered in hybrid or blended form.
- online – most of the courses
- hybrid – participants can attend online or in person at the offering university
- blended – the course is largely online but there may be face-to-face elements
- synchronous – lectures take place at a given time
- asynchronous – not time-specific, participants can watch recordings or study when it suits them
Awarded ECTS (2-10) depend on the specific workload.
All EuroTeQ partners offer selected micro-credentials for EuroTeQ students and professionals.
Professionals
Technologies and technological applications change fast over time. Lifelong learning and constant upskilling is therefore indispensable to be successful in your career. To keep professionals on top of the state-of-the-art knowledge, each EuroTeQ partner has developed continuing education formats with their local eco-systems.
EuroTeQ micro-credentials are an important element of the learning paths for lifelong learners from different professional backgrounds. We develop the offer in a continuous co-creation process with industry and professional bodies to make sure that the defined paths are target group focused, agile and flexible.
The learning experience is awarded by official universities with ECTS, is stackable and envisaged to be granted in a digital wallet (unique certificate). You apply at a specific EuroTeQ university for a micro-credential offer. Please note that for professional participants, costs may apply.

The course focuses on designing, optimising and deploying hardware systems for artificial intelligence, including AI chips and hardware–software co-design.
Target group: Company experts, engineers and chip designers who develop or select chips for running AI applications.

BUILD ENVIRONMENT SUSTAINABILITY
The course focuses on sustainable construction, teaching you to assess buildings’ environmental impact, calculate carbon footprints, and make informed decisions using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

BATTERY ESSENTIALS FOR SMART SELECTION & INTEGRATION
This programme provides practical knowledge of battery technologies, performance, system integration and market structures, helping professionals make informed decisions on battery selection, sourcing and integration without becoming battery manufacturers. It combines technical fundamentals with strategic and commercial perspectives.

SUSTAINABLE RENOVATION AND DECARBONIZATION OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS
This course will deep dive into integrated photonics and the applications it enables. Integrated photonics manipulates light on a microscopic chip for communication, computing, imaging and sensing applications. The course combines technical capabilities with real-world applications.
